Facilicom and KLM choose reusable coffee cups from Retulp
In partnership with Facilicom Solutions, Retulp supplied approximately 25,000 reusable coffee cups to KLM, KLM Catering Services and Transavia. This collaboration has contributed to making the aviation sector more sustainable by replacing disposable cups with reusable alternatives. KLM has chosen reusable coffee cups from Retulp to take a sustainable step toward a greener future. Despite the relaxation of SUP legislation, KLM wanted to set an example by choosing high-quality cups that last. These coffee cups, produced in Europe and assembled in a social workplace in the Netherlands, meet all of KLM's sustainability requirements. The cooperation with Facilicom Solutions ensured that the cups were delivered complete and on time, which was essential for the successful implementation of this project.
In what ways are coffee cups from Retulp deployed?
Facilicom Solutions implemented SUP legislation throughout the Netherlands for all employees of KLM and its subsidiaries. This resulted in the distribution of 23,000 reusable cups across 85 premises. The Retulp Travel Cups were used within the facilities of KLM, KLM Catering Services and Transavia to replace disposable cups. These reusable coffee cups are used daily by employees, which has resulted in a significant reduction in waste. The local catering team takes care of cleaning the cups after use.

The introduction of the Retulp Travel Cup within KLM Catering Services was received with enthusiasm. Every day we see more and more Travel Cups appearing in the workplace, contributing to the reduction of disposable cups and KLM's carbon footprint.

The impact of Facilicom Solutions
Facilicom Solutions played a crucial role in the just-in-time delivery of the reusable cups to KLM, using electric vehicles. An enthusiastic promotional team distributed the cups to employees within 12 days, which contributed to the quick and efficient implementation of the project. Thanks to these sustainable solutions, a waste mountain of 6.6 million disposable cups per year is avoided, which also leads to a significant reduction in CO2 emissions.
