LCA study most sustainable reusable cup
As of July 1, 2023, companies are required to offer reusable alternatives to plastic to-go packaging. And of course Retulp welcomes this wholeheartedly because once is shameful: mission indisposable. In the Netherlands, 5 million coffee cups are thrown away every day. In the search for the most sustainable coffee cup, the KoffiebekerPact came into being: a collaboration between 67 parties who researched what the most sustainable reusable cup is. On June 27, Retulp attended the launch of the report during the Coffee Cup Knowledge Festival in cooperation with PHI Factory and Facility Management Netherlands.
Retulp cup best tested for office
From the test, 2 heavy PP cups emerged as the best including the Travelcup from Retulp. These have high drinking comfort, good dishwasher washability and low environmental impact. A glass cup emerged as a good number two. For to go, stainless steel cups the bottles are the most durable as these products have by far the longest lifespan.

Reusable coffee cups on the go
Developed by professional baristas and made by Reichert DESIGN, the elegant reusable cup fits under any coffee machine in the hospitality industry and at home. This eco cup is user-friendly via a newly designed closure technology and the optimized drinking opening gives you a fine drinking experience. The practical one-handed operation and drinking ergonomics (nose-free when drinking due to thoughtful design). The coffee mug so that no additional cup cover is needed, even with very hot drinks, and keeps coffee or tea hot to drink for up to 30 minutes. The cup lasts at least 500 rinses in domestic and industrial dishwashers, this means that this design travel cup is durable and can be used for a long time.
Our travel cups are made of high-quality BPA-free PP for which a minimum of 500 rinses are guaranteed. This corresponds to more than 1 1/2 years of daily use. No part of the base material is lost as the processed thermoplastics are completely recycled.
