Collaboration Sea First Foundation & Retulp

Sea First does not only tackle the threats to our nature, but seeks cooperation with various parties. So that together we can exert influence where it is needed, at the right time, in the right place and at the right level. This regularly leads to strong and valuable partnerships.

The seas and oceans are exposed to threats that are very diverse in nature, magnitude and origin. Restoring marine life will also have a beneficial impact on the climate. For this purpose, many marine reserves must be created. Here fishing is prohibited and fish stocks can recover. This will greatly promote overall biodiversity.

Founder Dos Winkel began underwater photography in 1983 on the Caribbean island of Bonaire. In over three decades and over 5,000 hours underwater, he has not only built an international reputation as an underwater photographer, but as founder and president of the Sea First Foundation - together with his team of volunteers - he also makes an important contribution to ocean protection through education.

Since 2015 founder Richard Gabriel has been volunteering with SFF and in addition Retulp occasionally donates with Retulp products to this beautiful foundation. The picture above is from 2015 during a beach clean up action in Scheveningen. On the left next to Richard is plastic soup surfer Merijn Tinga with whom Retulp also has warm ties.

Sea First seeks to excite people about the beauty and biodiversity of marine life while informing them about the problems that stand in the way of the health of this world. We do this by raising awareness and education. The main target group for Sea First is children and young people: after all, they are the adults of the future. In addition, Sea First also organizes actions and lectures for the general public. Become a volunteer with SFF: https://www.seafirst.org/vrijwilligers
