Richard receives green ribbon!

Last Friday, June 2, was the annual presentation of green ribbons, which political party Groenlinks presents each year on World Environment Day (June 5). Green ribbons are awarded to people to reward them for their contribution to sustainability and the environment. And this year the founder of Retulp, Richard Gabriel, received a green ribbon!

One of four!

Richard was one of four people to receive a ribbon that year. The other nominees are committed to clean neighborhoods, nature development in city parks and energy-neutral initiatives, among others. All are local heroes with impact.

Richard's award highlights his ongoing commitment to preventing plastic waste. Not cleaning up afterwards, but making sure it doesn't get there. He does this by encouraging people to use reusable products: cups, coffee mugs, lunch boxes and, of course, the well-known drinking bottles.

Prevention of plastic waste

Richard received the green ribbon for his commitment to preventing plastic waste and encouraging people to use reusable cups, mugs & coffee mugs. With nice words from city council member Marcel van der Maal, Richard received his green ribbon pinned on. This pin is a nice appreciation for Richard. With this Richard is not resting on his laurels, on the contrary, it is a great point to work even harder to make people aware of the problem of plastic waste and encourage recycling!
