Retulp X Agnieten college
Many students have been studying and studying hard for their exams the past few weeks. Agnieten College in Zwartsluis was looking for a nice exam gift for their graduates. The eye was caught by our beautiful Limited Edition Fusion line. These bottles feature a unique black and white print. The choice fell on the Fusion thermos flask of 500ml, for which Retulp X Agnieten College designed a beautiful design.
The logo of the Agnieten College lent itself perfectly to a beautiful engraving. Not just an engraving, but an engraving in three shades! Laser engraving involves focusing a laser beam onto the surface of a workpiece using mirrors and lenses. Using the axis system, the beam can then be moved across the surface. The great heat of the laser beam marks, burns or vaporizes the surface of the workpiece, depending on the duration of exposure. This is how an engraving is made. In a three-tone engraving, the laser is set to laser deeper, making the color darker.
As you can see in the image above, the top line is engraved the darkest, so most of the material is lasered away. Below that you see a circle where the engraving is the lightest. And a middle tone in the middle stripe. Engraving in multiple tones gives a nice 3D effect. We hope of course that the students are as proud as we are of this thermos.
