We are always curious about how and where our products are used. Event agency Kingcanary from Amsterdam placed an order with Retulp for a large Heineken event. We got a look behind the scenes from project manager Selfa Verlaat.
Why Kingcanary chose Retulp
Selfa: "From Kingcanary, we are increasingly concerned with the footprint we leave behind. Certainly in the event industry there is a lot of room for improvement. So although it is far from perfect, we are thinking more and more with and for our clients about how we can make an event more sustainable. During the Heineken event in July, one of my responsibilities from the project and organization team was "sustainability." Waste was the main focus. From that idea came the idea to use no single-use water bottles at all and that's how we ended up at Retulp. With a great message (for yourself, another and the planet), especially with sponsoring drinking water supplies. In addition, a very nice bottle, which is also certainly suitable for the business market.
How our bottles have been deployed
'The bottles were used instead of plastic water bottles. We placed water points throughout the venue where both crew and guests could refill their bottles. For the guests, we went a step further. Prior to each plenary session, there were bottles ready filled with cold water. After the session, guests could leave the dirty and empty bottles behind and we made sure they were cleaned and refilled. The reactions were tremendously good, both the crew and the guests really appreciated this action. In addition, the bottle is of course a very nice give-away and reminder of the event.
Anti-plastic heroes
'With this action we saved about 7,500 plastic bottles and we made both the crew and guests aware. Who knows how many more bottles they will save with the bottles in the future?
We are extremely proud that our bottles were able to contribute to a more sustainable event and good to see concrete steps being taken to clean up the event industry.
In addition, Kingcanary made a donation of a whopping 800,000 liters of clean drinking water with their order. Fantastic!
