Club Kakatua

Single-use plastic is a global problem and nowhere are the consequences more apparent than in Asia. One of the biggest reasons that the oceans are polluted on a massive scale is the fact that all streams, brooks and rivers eventually end up in the sea. On the way to the ocean, the water takes all the garbage that has been thrown into the rivers with it, with all its consequences. With our trash barriers we want to counteract this. They are a kind of bridges that allow water to flow through but at the same time stop all the waste. A medium-sized barrier can stop up to 20 tons of waste per year!

Club Kakatua's mission is to help as quickly as possible by funding these barriers. A medium-sized barrier costs 4500 euros to build, construct, maintain for a year and clean weekly. Retulp Donates this amount each year to install a trash barier each year.

Extra nice in this collaboration is the research done in response to the plastic "catches. Every quarter they publish which brands they have come across the most in the waste. From Coca Cola to Nestlé, and from Unilever to Danone. These reports provide a fantastic opportunity to put additional pressure on these multinationals responsible for this pollution. Because cleaning up is good, and it absolutely must be done, but the best we can achieve is to make sure that the single-use plastic tap is finally turned off! You can contribute through a simple one-time donation.
