A wave of change: Retulp and Club Kakatua's fight against plastic pollution
In an era where the need to address plastic pollution is more urgent than ever, Retulp supports Club Kakatua's beautiful "Trash Barriers" project and the overarching "STOP THE TRASH" campaign. These initiatives, aimed at cleaning rivers and protecting our oceans, mark a milestone in efforts to combat the global plastic crisis.
The Ocean Edition series from Retulp, developed to support the "STOP THE TRASH" project, played a good role in this campaign. By implementing Trash Barriers in rivers, an innovative solution to prevent plastic waste from reaching the ocean, these projects have collectively captured and removed thousands of pounds of trash. Local teams have worked tirelessly to maintain the barriers, clean them, and sort the waste collected, bringing about an effective strategy against plastic pollution. The collaboration between Retulp and Club Kakatua has only led to improvements in the fight against plastic pollution. Together, we can continue to work for a cleaner, safer and more sustainable world.
Through the sale of the Mission Edition Ocean Series, a collaboration between Retulp and Club Kakatua initiated by Dennis Storm, an all-new Trash Barriers has been funded and installed. This series, consisting of five high-quality thermos bottles and three durable cooler bags, symbolizes the joint commitment to a cleaner environment. In light of this success, Club Kakatua continues its efforts and looks forward to new projects. With a call for regular donors for their newest initiative, "Death or the Gladioli," Club Kakatua remains committed to creating sustainable and positive environmental impact.
"More topical than ever, because today it is also up or down. Not for a single gladiator, but for everyone walking this globe: an arena filled with delaying policy makers, selfish industries and a large part of the people who do not want to know what is really going on, and above all try to ignore (or downplay) how serious the crisis is."
Dennis Storm, co-founder of Club Kakatua
DEATH OR THE GLADIOLAS
On the most uncertain day of the year, Feb. 29, Club Kakatua is launching perhaps its latest campaign ever, Death or Gladioli. Three videos that will make you think and hopefully convince you to take action. Not ever, but now. 'Death or Gladioli' is not an ode to Louis van Gaal's language aspirations but a reference to the proverb 'death or the gladioli'. Since its inception, Cluk K have always done things differently through tangible projects and unique collaborations. But they have also from day one expressed the ambition to one day be self-sufficient. And that will only happen if we receive enough donations this year. You can donate at Club Kakatua in two ways:
By project, where you specifically choose a project you want to give money to once, or through a self-set monthly transfer as being a regular donation.
