Clean drinking water donation
Clean drinking water is the basis of all life on earth. Without water, everything dries out, the land, the crops, the animals and even we humans can only survive on average for about three days without water. Yet for a lot of people on our planet, clean drinking water is still not a given. Did you know that 1 in 10 people on earth has a day job to get safe drinking water? This in turn creates development inequality. This is because it is mostly women and children who collect the water. This means that they cannot work and/or go to school. Retulp supports Foundation Made Blue with drinking water donation.
On top of that, in many developing countries, the water painstakingly collected by women and children is not even clean. Every day some 1,300 people die as a result of drinking contaminated water. Of course, this mainly affects the most vulnerable such as children. Water scarcity is also a source of conflicts that do not improve the living environment either.
So as a supplier of sustainable bottles, we at Retulp think it's important to give something back as well. And what better way for a bottle brand than to donate clean drinking water? We do this by donating the content x 1000 liters of clean drinking water for every bottle sold. We do this through our partner Made Blue. Through them, we know for sure that the water actually gets to where it is so desperately needed. Made Blue, like us, considers lasting impact important, which is why the local community of a water project is involved and trained.
What we find important is that these water projects also work as sustainably as possible with local people and materials. This is closely monitored by local partners such as Amref Flying Doctors and Aqua for all.
