Retulp and the Pelican
Once again we are allowed to highlight a very nice local collaboration, namely that of Retulp and De Pelikaan Zutphen. De Pelikaan Zutphen is a household name in the region. This store has a rich history as it has existed since 1816! Started as a so-called business in colonial goods that roasted its own coffee in its own Steam Coffee Roastery, this store therefore has a rich history. From 1920 really specialized in coffee and tea. Since then, the store has expanded to include a cozy gift shop and beautiful gift store. The Pelican sells coffee from various countries such as Costa Rica, Brazil, Colombia etc. that is roasted in their own store. Super nice that Retulp and De Pelikaan have found each other!
For the gift store, The Pelican was looking for beautiful sustainable bottles. This quickly brought our Tumbler and Travel Cup into the picture. We always had the Tumbler in black, but the Travel Cup was only available in ivory. The Pelican, however, wanted to be in their house style. This one is black with a gold pelican. So for us the challenge to find a good solution for that.
Of course, we gladly accepted that challenge and managed to get a the Travel Cup produced in beautiful black. On both the black Tumbler and the black Travel Cup the logo of De Pelikaan Zutphen is printed in gold. A precision job because especially the pelican in the logo has many fine lines. But, fair is fair, the result is worth it. De Pelikaan has added two very stylish items to its assortment. And thanks to De Pelikaan we also have a nice addition to our assortment because from now on we can also offer the Travel Cups in black!
Two colleagues personally went to deliver this scoop to the atmospheric gift store in Zutphen. This allowed us to see right away that our bottles and cups certainly don't look out of place among all the other fun items. We also enjoyed seeing how enthusiastic Luc and staff were about the Travel Cups and Tumblers. And as an added bonus, a day later our cups were featured in the NOS News that had filmed an item at De Pelikaan! As far as we are concerned, another very successful collaboration.
