The difference between biobased and biodegradable
It may sound like the same thing, but there is indeed a difference. Biobased says something about where the water bottle comes from: namely, from plants, such as sugar cane. This means no petroleum is needed. This makes the production process of the water bottles a lot cleaner and greener. Biodegradable is precisely about the end of the life span. What happens when the water bottle is no longer used? In the case of a biodegradable water bottle: it disappears on its own. No waste, no trace. Some water bottles combine both properties, but not necessarily. Most importantly: both types of water bottles are much better than disposable plastic!

PP biodegradable water bottles
The biodegradable water bottles are made of PE/PP with a bio-additive. Thanks to this bio-additive, the water bottles break down on their own after use. Once the water bottles land in a landfill or composting environment and are exposed to the right conditions, they convert themselves into water, humus and a little gas.
