Biobased products are the sustainable successor to traditional plastic items. At Retulp, you'll find a growing range of biobased drinking and lunch products. Think water bottles, sports water bottles, shakers, cups and lunch boxes - all made from plant-based resources. These products are not only practical and beautifully designed, but also fully customizable with your logo or design.

What does biobased actually mean?

A biobased product is made from renewable, plant-based raw materials. At Retulp, for example, our bio water bottles are made from sugarcane. The plant is used for sugar production, and from the remaining material we make bioplastic. This material is odorless, BPA-free, sturdy and perfectly suitable for reuse. Biobased therefore means not only replacing plastic with something more sustainable, but also making smart use of residual streams that would otherwise be wasted. The result? Sturdy, reusable products with lower CO₂ emissions and a distinctly sustainable look.

These water bottles and water bottles are completely biobased and made from renewable resources such as sugarcane. Because sugar cane absorbs CO₂ during growth, production directly contributes to reducing emissions. The result? A sturdy, safe and sustainable water bottle with a much smaller impact on the environment.

Details

Sugar cane is a renewable resource that helps reduce greenhouse gases. It's very simple: as the sugar cane greens, the plant removes CO2 from the air. The sugarcane extract is used to make ethanol, which we use to make green polyethylene that is 100% recyclable.

Surcharges for extra luxury options
If you want 2 color imprint the extra costs are € 0.20 each, 3 color imprint € 0.30 each and 4 color imprint € 0.40 each. Special full color IML printing is possible from 1000 pieces and the additional costs are € 0.50 per piece.
If you want a handy lid with drinking spout, the additional costs are € 2.35 each.

Biobased travel mug 480 ml

Sealable reusable coffee cup made from sustainable Bioplastic. All-in guide price approx €9,-.

Details

The products in the Zuperzozial C-PLA Bioplastic collection are made for consumer use. The cups for coffee or tea to go have a screw lid and tightly sealing lid over the drinking hole. The ridges around the cup allow you to hold it securely and not burn your fingers. The reusable cup is made of C-PLA and silicone (BPA and melamine free, food safe according to EU guidelines). PLA is biobased and biodegradable. The cups are made from plant sugars reinforced with plant fibers.

Is bioplastic C-PLA scratch resistant? No, bioplastic C-PLA is a soft material and in use, user marks will occur, especially when using metal cutlery. Do not use the material as a cutting board.

Are bioplastic C-PLA products suitable for hot liquids? Yes, the products are suitable for hot liquids and certified for this purpose. The material is not suitable for boiling or baking or prolonged exposure to a boiling liquid.

C-PLA bioplastic products are not unbreakable. The material does not shatter as badly as glass or ceramic, but if dropped with a certain force, height and surface area, it can crack or break.

The material behaves well in a consumer dishwasher on an ECO program/max of 50 degrees.

C-PLA cups are not made for frequent cleaning in a gourmet dishwasher at high temperature, the products may deform.

Why is biobased even better than biodegradable?

The terms biobased and biodegradable sound similar but are really different. Biobased refers to the origin of the material: plant-based, renewable, and non-fossil.
